Your First Visit

What should I bring?

For your first visit please bring the following items:

  • Your referral letter (if not sent already via your GP)
  • All x-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and blood test relating to your referral
  • Medicare care card
  • Private health care card
  • If you wish please feel free to bring a family member or friend with you

How long is my consultation?

For new patients, 30 minutes is allocated for the consultation. This generally allows sufficient time to discuss the condition, perform an examination, and review any relevant investigations. In some instances complex conditions require a longer consultation or can unexpectedly run late. At times a second appointment is useful to discuss additional aspects of your care or surgery in more detail.

Bringing along a family member or friend can be very useful to help recall the information discussed. If anything remains unclear after the consultation or you have further questions, feel free to contact us and make an additional appointment to discuss your condition further.

Rescheduling appointments

If you need to reschedule a previously booked appointment, please contact our staff on (07) 3226 3800 as soon as possible. A new appointment can be arranged at a convenient time and your existing appointment can be offered to someone else.

Running late

If this occurs please phone the staff and let them know. We will always do our best to accommodate.
